Safe + Sound Week: Building and Celebrating Workplace Safety & Health Programs
Presented by: ASSP Long Beach Chapter, in partnership with the CSUDH OSHA Training Education Center
About This Session:
The Safe + Sound Campaign encourages every workplace to have a safety and health program. Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace safety and health programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe.
Join ASSP Long Beach Chapter and the CSUDH OSHA Training Education Center as we mark Safe + Sound Week with a session focused on the core building blocks of an effective safety and health program — management leadership, worker participation, and hazard identification and control — and how organizations of any size can put them into practice.
What You Will Learn:
- The three core elements of an effective workplace safety and health program, and how they work together
- Practical, low-cost ways to start or strengthen a program, regardless of company size or industry
- How to build genuine worker participation and buy-in from day one
- Tools and resources available through the national Safe + Sound Campaign that you can put to use immediately
- Ideas for recognizing and celebrating your team’s safety successes during Safe + Sound Week and throughout the year

- Lunch will be provided for each in-person attendee from 12:00–12:30 PM PST.
- In-person event is $15. Virtual attendance is free.
- Parking is $10.
- CEUs will be awarded for attendance at all Education and Networking Sessions during the 26–27 term (July 1 – June 30).
- The event is intended for in-person learning and networking. Virtual attendance is also available for those outside the area or unable to attend in person. Please use the “Virtual Registration” button to register for the online option.
