Topic Science of Fit
In December of 2024, US Federal USHA announced the revision of 29 CFR 1926.95 Construction Criteria for Personal Protective Equipment to explicitly require employers to ensure that issued personal protective equipment (PPE) fits the worker. This revision brings the construction standard in alignment with general industry and maritime standards.
3M recently created in support of OSHA’s newly revised rule change to require employers to ensure that issued PPE fits the worker. This session highlights the critical role of fit, comfort, and compliance in developing your PPE program. This interactive session will cover the latest updates in rulemaking, strategy for considering employee PPE fit in your existing PPE programs, considering the combination of the appropriate fit, compliance, and comfort during the selection process, and methods to access fit for various types of PPE, including hearing protection, eye protection, respiratory protection and fall harnesses.
