Topic: It’s Getting Hot in Here – Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Outdoors
Presented by: Allyson Clark, CSP, CHMM

Agenda
12:00 PM – Networking Lunch (Provided)
12:30 PM – Presentation Begins

As California’s summers grow longer and hotter, outdoor operations are under increased regulatory scrutiny—and elevated risk. With Cal/OSHA intensifying enforcement of the Heat Illness Prevention Standard (§3395), now is the time to strengthen your program before temperatures peak.

This session delivers more than a regulation review—it offers a practical blueprint for building and refining your heat illness prevention strategy. You’ll walk away with clarity on how to implement compliant, field-ready practices around water access, shade, rest cycles, acclimatization, high-heat protocols, and emergency response.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or auditing an existing plan, this training is designed to help safety leaders reduce liability, improve worker well-being, and confidently prepare for site inspections. If you’re looking to align compliance with real-world operations, this session belongs on your calendar.

Learning Objectives:

    • Understand the core requirements of Cal/OSHA’s Outdoor Heat Illness Prevention Standard (§3395)
    • Identify key triggers for compliance, including temperature thresholds and high-heat procedures
    • Learn best practices for providing water, shade, rest breaks, and emergency planning
