Speaker Chris Rainwater
Dr. Christopher S. Rainwater is the Owner and President of CorpsPro Safety, LLC and the former Chief of Safety and Occupational Health for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District. Now in his 39th year as a safety professional, he has led safety and occupational health efforts in some of the nation’s most complex and high-risk environments. During his tenure with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, he was responsible for safety oversight on billions of dollars in federal projects throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, and his approach to safety management was recognized as a model of best practices.
Dr. Rainwater is a prolific trainer, instructor, and speaker who has taught thousands of students and presented widely on occupational safety, ethics, leadership, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He has been published in professional journals and magazines related to safety, legal, and management issues, and currently serves on the Editorial Review Board for Professional Safety Journal (PSJ).
A committed leader within the profession, Dr. Rainwater is the Past-President of the ASSP Long Beach Chapter, a Past Deputy Regional Vice President for ASSP Region I, and the 2026 ASSP Region I Safety Professional of the Year. He has also served as an adjunct professor for Covenant College, Floyd College, Berry College, and Eastern Kentucky University, where he was also an OSHA Outreach instructor.
Dr. Rainwater is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served with distinction during the Gulf War while deployed to Saudi Arabia. His military awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, among others.
He holds a B.S. in Organizational Management, an M.P.A., an M.S. in Safety and Occupational Health, a Doctorate in Public Administration, and is currently completing his second doctoral degree in Safety and Occupational Health at Columbia Southern University.

Attendees are encouraged to park in Lot 3 or Lot 6, closest to the Extended Education Classroom building. Parking is $10.00/day. Parking meters are located in the corners of each lot.
