Ethical decision-making is at the core of professional safety practice. Join ASSP Long Beach for an engaging and thought-provoking session on “Ethical Decision- Making for Safety Professionals: Meeting the BCSP Code of Ethics.” This session will explore real-world ethical dilemmas, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Code of Ethics, and strategies for making sound ethical choices in challenging workplace situations.

Speaker Chris Rainwater

Dr. Christopher (Chris) Rainwater, now in his 38th year as a Safety Professional, currently serves as the Chief of Safety and Occupational Health for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District. In this capacity, Dr. Rainwater is responsible for safety management on billions of dollars in federal projects throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Dr. Rainwater’s approach to safety management was recently identified by the Army Corps of Engineers as the example of best practices for projects throughout the Corps.

Dr. Rainwater is a prolific trainer, instructor, and presenter. He has instructed thousands of students in a wide variety of topics and has been published in professional journals and magazines related to safety, risk management, and legal issues. Dr. Rainwater has served as an adjunct professor for Covenant College, Floyd College, Berry College, and Eastern Kentucky University (where he served as an OSHA Outreach instructor).

Dr. Rainwater is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served with distinction in the Gulf War while deployed to Saudi Arabia. His awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star and more.

Dr. Rainwater holds a B.S. in Organizational Management, a M.S. in Public Administration, a M.S. in Safety and Occupational Health, a Doctorate in Public Administration and is currently completing a second doctorate in Safety and Occupational Health.

  2. Parking is $10
  3. CEUs will be awarded for attendance at all Education and Networking Sessions during the 25-26 term (July 1 – June 30)
