Long Beach ASSP Hosts September Meeting on Workers’ Compensation Strategies

The Long Beach Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) held its Education and Networking meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

This month’s featured program, “Risk Less, Save More: The Workers’ Comp Advantage,” was presented by Rocío Luna, an expert in workers’ compensation strategies. The session highlighted the top three drivers that increase workers’ compensation premiums and Ex-Mod rates, offering practical insights for safety professionals and employers looking to control costs while improving workplace outcomes.

Rock & Roll Networking Night at Jade

On September 5, 2025, Long Beach ASSP members came together at Jade Restaurant for an evening of networking, sushi, and live music. The beautiful waterfront setting and club-provided appetizers set the stage for a relaxed night of conversation and connection.

Guests enjoyed fresh sushi, Asian-inspired dishes, and handcrafted cocktails while the band Echo Love Chamber energized the crowd with a lively set. It was a fun way to meet new colleagues, catch up with friends, and strengthen professional relationships.

Long Beach ASSP Dinner Night Out – Tantalum

On August 28, 2025, the Long Beach Chapter of ASSP gathered at Tantalum for a wonderful night on the water. Guests enjoyed club-provided appetizers, live music by Christopher Crumb, and Tantalum’s signature cocktails and New California cuisine with an Asian twist.

Long Beach ASSP Enjoys a Night Out at The Boathouse on the Bay – July 31, 2025

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Long Beach Chapter of ASSP gathered for a memorable evening at The Boathouse, right on the water. The scenic waterfront setting provided the perfect backdrop for networking, laughter, and great conversation among our community of safety professionals.

Members and guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views, and the chance to connect outside of our usual technical sessions. It was an evening of shared stories, new connections, and a celebration of the camaraderie that makes our chapter so strong.

Long Beach Chapter Earns Platinum Level Recognition for 2024–2025

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is proud to recognize the Long Beach Chapter for achieving Platinum Level Recognition for the 2024–2025 year.

This prestigious designation reflects the chapter’s commitment to excellence in leadership, member engagement, and advancing the safety profession. The recognition is based on the chapter’s performance and accomplishments as reported in the Chapter Operations Management Tool (COMT) submitted by June 30, 2025, and thoroughly reviewed by the Regional Vice President and Area Director.
